Fred Faylona is currently serving his first term as the Ward 6 Commissioner on the Board of Commissioners for Susquehanna Township, Pennsylvania. He was elected in 2021 and is excited to continue serving his neighbors in the next four years.
In his role, Commissioner Fred has been instrumental in several initiatives:
Bicycle and Pedestrian Infrastructure: He collaborated with the Board of Commissioners, township staff, community leaders, and residents to develop the Susquehanna Township Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Greenways Plan. Adopted on May 23, 2024, this plan aims to establish shared and dedicated bike lanes, trails connecting to the Capital Area Greenbelt, and enhanced sidewalks to promote walkability within the township. For 2025 and the next four years, he intends to spearhead its implementation.
Parks Development: Commissioner Fred worked with the Recreation Advisory Committee (RAC) and other stakeholders to transform the defunct Wedgewood Hills Swim Club into a usable recreation space. The Wedgewood Hills Park Master Plan, adopted on September 23, 2024, outlines the development of a neighborhood park that connects to the Capital Area Greenbelt. This year, he started working with the RAC and the Parks & Rec Department on a Six Park Master Plan that will provide more and better recreation facilities for his neighbors in the Township.
For Commissioner Fred’s next four years in office, focusing on improving technology, cybersecurity, efficient services, and a sustainable budget would be crucial for modernizing Susquehanna Township and ensuring its long-term growth. By creating a balanced and forward-thinking agenda, Commissioner Fred can lay the groundwork for a more connected, secure, and efficient township in the years to come.
Beyond his duties as a Commissioner, Fred is a lifelong technologist with experience in government, education, telecommunications, information technology, and healthcare sectors in both the Philippines and the United States. He currently serves as a Database Administrator at InnovAge, managing the company's data platforms. He is also a licensed financial advisor and personal finance coach. He has been on the board of Historic Harrisburg since 2021 and has recently joined the Cybersecurity Association of Pennsylvania as its Vice Chair.
